Dear Linda and Bengt,

I am running LCA with 16 binary indicators. The indicators are the result of qualitative content analysis. Some of the categories have only been mentioned by less than 10% of the sample (N = 313).

Is there any rule about how many people should have endorsed an item?

No firm rule - it depends on so many things.
