The ration of the factor loading to its standard error is a z-score in large samples. It should be interpreted as such.

I am using Mplus version 7 to conduct an EFA with continuous indicators and ML estimation. For my factor intercorrelation, the ratio of the estimate to the SE is 0.65 (and thus not statistically significant). However, there is an asterisk next to the estimate, indicating statistical significance. What might explain this?
