I am seeking some help to include a categorical variable (race) in a path model. I got this error message: "For covariances between categorical variables, specify PARAMETERIZATION=RESCOV"

Here is my code:

VARIABLE: names are age childpov stress finstrain educat2 income2
brief_sum race white2;
Usevariables are age childpov stress finstrain educat2
brief_sum race;
categorical are race;
missing are all (-99);
ANALYSIS: Estimator is MLR;
brief_sum on stress age educat2 childpov;
stress on finstrain childpov;
finstrain with childpov;
finstrain with educat2;
finstrain with race;
race with childpov;
race with age;
brief_sum ind stress finstrain;
OUTPUT: sampstat standardized mod tech1;

When I add the command: PARAMETERIZATION=RESCOV; to my code (after "estimator is MLR;), MPlus told me I needed to add the line of code: TYPE=MIXTURE. So I included both of those commands and still got an error message: "This analysis is only available with the Mixture or Combination Add-On."
