Hi,

I am trying to interpret the results of a multilevel EFA. I am not certain which set of coefficients I should consider as being the best description of the relationships among the measures.

The two that seem most logical are the rotated loadings and the factor structure. The problem is that in my case, the two lead to meaningful different interpretations.

My apologies if this question has been addressed elsewhere or if it is naive.

Thanks,
John

Both are often used; they answer different questions. Loading pattern is probably more common - it gives a regression answer (item regressed on factors): how much does a factor influence an item? Factor structure gives a correlation answer; with correlated factors the answers can be different.
