I am exploring the factor structure of a new scale on which we collected data at 2 time points (pre and post intervention). Given the factor structure is still a work in progress (4-, 5-, or 6-factor solutions are viable options based on our theoretical model), would ESEM be a good approach to uncover the best and most stable factor structure across time points? I considered using EFA at Time 1, selecting the best solution, then running a CFA at Time 2, but somehow ESEM seems like a better approach. Advice/thoughts? Thank you!
