Hello, I am running an LCA of alcohol use disorder criteria with an N of 624. I am fitting 3-5 classes. When reviewing the AIC and adjusted-BIC, the AIC decreases while the adjusted-BIC increases. Is this possible and what do I make of this?
Thank you.

I would go with the regular BIC.

Thank you very much.

Also, I am using the 3-step method to include covariates in the model. Out of curiosity, what kind of regression coefficient does Mplus produce? Is it a probit regression coefficient?

Multinomial logistic regression coefficients.
