Greetings Mplus team,

I am wondering if it is possible to model a repeated event cox regression model in the latest version of Mplus (5.21)? I have hospital discharge data on a large sample of individuals (n=~14,000) and I would thus like to model the time to repeated events (discharges).

I've consulted the UG and searched the fora but I haven't found an answer yet.

Sincerely,
Amir Sariaslan

Yes, it is possible to model repeated event cox regression model, both as a multivariate or multilevel model. There are no examples in the UG but there are some examples in

Thank you for the clarification, Dr. Asparouhov. I'll have a look at the paper.

Dr. Asparouhov,

When you state that it is possible to model repeated events as a multilevel Cox model, does that correspond to example 9.18 in the UG?

My data is in the long format and I would thus nest the repeated events within individuals using the setup in the example. Is this a correct approach or am I missing something?

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
Amir

Amir

This is the correct approach and indeed example 9.18 is a repeated event cox regression model.

Dr. Asparouhov,
Thank you very much for confirming this.
