Hello,

I wanted to ask how to interpret the intercepts of a multiple group model with grouping as male and female. There is a variable discerning who of the population went from 0 to 1 and there is there is personality as a factor that changes over time.

The female group does not show a significant intercept for the factor I want to analyze, the male group does show a significant negative effect on the initial mean-level (intercept): Does this mean the male group does have a decreased mean-level on personality _in comparison to the female group_ or in comparison to "its own group" - namely those men who did not go from 0 to 1?

I'm just unsure whether you compare the groups in relation to each other in multiple group models or whether each found intercept effect is interpreted "as if there was no other group in the model".

I would be glad if you could clarify.

Kind regards
