Hello,

I was wondering if you could provide clarification on something. I've learned how to use MPlus to check for longitudinal measurement invariance where the outcome of interest is a series of latent variables at multiple timepoints.

I'm now fitting an auto-regressive model where all my outcomes are observed, rather than latent variables, at each timepoint.

Would one ever check for measurement invariance before fitting a longitudinal model consisting solely of repeated observed variables? Or is measurement invariance primarily a concern when investigating repeated latent variables?

Best wishes,
Alice

I would say it is primarily intended for latent variable measures.
