Hi,
Could you recommend an article or handout that most clearly explains how to model the relationship over time between correlated processes such as heart rate and blood pressure and how to determine what's driving what over time? The data I'm looking at will most likely reveal multiple latent trajectories, so if there is anything you can think of in the LGMM or GGMM lit, that would help most, but I can probably figure out how to apply other articles to these analyses. Thanks a lot for your help.
Best,
Isaac

That's a tough one to answer, and a tough problem to sort out. Attempts have been made using cross-lagged panel models (lots to Google) as well as using parallel process growth models (see our Topic 3 handout). The former specifies direct relationships between the observed outcomes of the different processes, whereas the latter lets growth factors of one process influence the growth factors of the other. Hybrids are also possible - Google ALT models. And latent difference models.
