Dear Dr. Muthen,

I have items for a latent variable (motivation) measured twice in the same individuals, but not over time. It is measured first for motivation about a topic, and second for motivation about a second topic. Topics are related.
I want to test whether the structure is the same for the two topics, and I wonder whether I can test it using a multigroup approach, since it is not independent groups, naither measures over time.
Can you give me an advice?
Thanks,
Stéphanie

Multiple group analysis should not be used in this case. Do the comparisons across in a one group analysis.
