I am running into the empty cells warning for some variables. I have read a couple of articles on the methods for handling this problem with binary and 3-category data. I believe that Mplus offers the ADDFREQUENCY command that will place a constant in the empty cells. However, when I use this command the warning of empty cells still appears.

The command I use under ANALYSIS:
ADDFREQUENCY = .5;

Should the empty cell warning go away when using this command?

Thanks in advance. JB

The zero frequency warnings are based on the data. The ADDFREQUENCY information is used during model estimation.

Thank you. That clears it up for me. JB
