Hi, Prof. Muthen,

I am running a EFA model with 1700 obs.
I get a four factor model
RMSEA = 0.042
SRMR =0.022

But Chi-square P-value =0.000

Is this a reasonable fit? Why is Chi-square so bad while RMSEA and SRMR are fine?

The second question is that I have the
Factor determinacies for the four factors
0.825 0.809 0.908 0.875
Are they ok? Or they have to be greater than 0.9.

Thanks a lot!

Chi-square is often poor despite RMSEA being good - for reasons why, see the literature on RMSEA describing the idea of approximate fit.

I know of no rules for factor determinacy values - except the higher the better.
