Could you please explain the differene between SEM and piecewise modeling? If you could recommend relevant articles that would be great.

| SEM usually refers to models where the relationship among latent variables is explored. Piecewise modeling in my experience refers to a particular type of growth model. A piecewise growth model can be specified within an SEM framerwork. See textbooks on SEM and Growth Modeling. |
