Hello, I am running the multigroup SEM analysis. The grouping variable is gender; however, when I was running the multigroup analysis, the output showed that ˇ§CATEGORICAL VARIABLE POSI3 HAS ZERO OBSERVATIONS IN CATEGORY 0.ˇ¨, which means that there is one categorical variable (i.e POS13) had 0 observation in category 0. And this category variable has five categories, but only the category 0 has 0 observation. Could you please let me know how to fix this problem? Thank you! |

Thank you! I added the command lineˇ¨ Categorical posi3(*)ˇ¨ to fix the message ˇ§CATEGORICAL VARIABLE POSI3 HAS ZERO OBSERVATIONS IN CATEGORY 0ˇ¨. However, it showed me that ˇ§*** ERROR in VARIABLE command For estimators WLS, WLSM, WLSMV and ULSMV, the possible categories for each categorical variable can only be determined from the data for that variable. Use estimator ML, MLF, or MLR for the special categorical recoding featuresˇ¨ Here is the code I wrote: Missing are all (-9999) ; USEOBSERVATION ARE (sex EQ 1); USEVARIABLES are eduy1 equincom1 !sex agec migr agemo s_voca3 s_synt3 s_morph3 sensi3 posi3 emot3 psa psb psd psg psi prc pre prf prh prj MNeAf ; Categorical are psa psb psd psg psi prc pre prf prh prj sensi3 emot3 ; Categorical posi3(*); |

thank you! I added the following line: Analysis: ESTIMATOR IS MLR; But, the model seemed not to be converged. It showed this message: “ MAXIMUM LOG-LIKELIHOOD VALUE FOR THE UNRESTRICTED (H1) MODEL IS -24542.278 ONE OR MORE PARAMETERS WERE FIXED TO AVOID SINGULARITY OF THE INFORMATION MATRIX. THE SINGULARITY IS MOST LIKELY BECAUSE THE MODEL IS NOT IDENTIFIED, OR BECAUSE OF EMPTY CELLS IN THE JOINT DISTRIBUTION OF THE CATEGORICAL VARIABLES IN THE MODEL. THE FOLLOWING PARAMETERS WERE FIXED: 65 69 73 77 81 85 89 93 97 101 58 54 72 92 88 68 100 76 80 64 84 96 “ |
