I am trying to examine the fit of a 2-group base model with categorical indicator variables and one latent factor for futher invariance testing. I am trying to test the fit of a 2-group model with unconstrained factor loadings and unconstrained thresholds between groups. However, I keep getting the following message: Any help would be appreciated! THE MODEL ESTIMATION TERMINATED NORMALLY THE STANDARD ERRORS OF THE MODEL PARAMETER ESTIMATES COULD NOT BE COMPUTED. THE MODEL MAY NOT BE IDENTIFIED. CHECK YOUR MODEL. PROBLEM INVOLVING PARAMETER 251. THE CONDITION NUMBER IS -0.501D-17. |

Did you fix the factor means to zero in both groups? This is necessary for model identification when the thresholds are all free. If this is not the problem please send your input, data, output, and license number to support@statmodel.com. |
