Hello, I am trying to model an effect where black and hispanic (indicators for race - indiv. level) affect where you live (risk3_2 - neighborhood poverty - level 2) affect diabetes status (diab - level 1). From boards and the examples it appears I should do the following:
between=risk3_2; analysis: type=twolevel random complex; model: %within% s | diab on black hispanic;
%between% s diab ON risk3_2 black hispanic;
But I am getting the following error: *** ERROR in MODEL command Unrestricted x-variables for analysis with TYPE=TWOLEVEL and ALGORITHM=INTEGRATION must be specified as either a WITHIN or BETWEEN variable. The following variable cannot exist on both levels: BLACK
You need to put black and hispanic on the WITHIN list and create between-level variables for black and hispanic using the CLUSTER_MEAN option of the DEFINE command. Latent variable decomposition of black and hispanic is not available for your model.
