I've been trying to run an SEM, but get the following error message:
The number of observations is 0. Check your data and format statement.
Data file: mat.smoking_offspring_BW_BP.dat
- I've checked my dataset and it looks fine (both the dat file and in Stata)
- What does the 'format' statement refer to?
Thanks & regards,

If your data are in fixed format, you need a format statement. See the FORMAT option.

COMPUTED. THE MODEL MAY NOT BE IDENTIFIED. CHECK YOUR MODEL.
PROBLEM INVOLVING PARAMETER 25.
THE CONDITION NUMBER IS 0.121D-11.

- What does parameter 25 refer to and how do I locate it?

Thanks in advance,

You can find out which parameter 25 is by looking at TECH1. The condition number is related to identification.
