Good evening
I wonder why we can use SEM to analyze data with a non-normal distribution. Because I already know that the factor can have a normal distribution even when the data have a non-normal distribution. However, I'm have problems understanding the framework of that idea.

ML estimation is robust to non-normal observed variables. There is a large literature on that.
