Hello,

I'm fitting a path analysis with two exogenous variables, two endogenous mediating variables, and two endogenous fully dependent variables.

I would have thought this would have had
6*(6+1)/2 = 21 total degrees of freedom, but MPlus is giving it 27.

I've looked through some threads here, and am not sure how to account for this.

Could somebody please point me to a source where the calculation method is made clear?

Thanks,
Barry

The degrees of freedom are equal to the number of parameters in the H1 model minus the number of parameters in the H0 model. If you send the output and your license number to support@statmodelcom, I will explain how the degrees of freedom are calculated for that model.
