if i found no significant effect of my second level variable on any of the slopes in the first level,(but did find an effect of the coefficients of some variables).

is it posible to move back to a one level model and use the second level variable as a variable (just duplicate its value for each cluster of data).

this will allow me to use other estimators.

Using a 1-level model would mean that there was neither an intercept nor a slope variance.
