Dear Prof. Muthen, I have read so many different explanations about the topic that I’m really confused now: I have analysed a model with 8 predictors, 2 mediators and 1 dependent variable. One of the mediators (10) is the only variable which has a direct effect on the DV. There are also 5 predictors (1,2,3,4,5) that have an indirect effect on the DV. Some of them have an indirect effect on the DV via one mediator (10) and some of them have an indirect effect on the DV via both mediators (9, 10). Which variables are part of the explanation of the variance R-Square of the DV (11)? I’m looking forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance. R-square for 11 is affected only by 10. But using numbers for variables is not Mplus language. For general questions like this you should post on SEMNET. |
