Second-order factor in ESEM |

Dear all, I'm trying to test a second-order factor structure with 2 super-factors that include 3 and 4 factors each. Having big correlations between many of the factors, ESEM seemed to be the solution (at least if if only test the 7-factor first-order structure. I don't think I can have latent variables in ESEM. Is there another way except a CFA (which doesn't give a good fit)? Many thanks, Simon L. Chrétien |

You can try "EFA within a CFA framework". See our handout for the Topic 1 course on our website. Generalize to your model. See also Marsh articles on this approach on our ESEM page. |
