Hi Linda and Bengt,

Microsoft has just released the 64 bit version of Windows XP and before I upgrade I am wondering if you or anyone else out there has tried to run Mplus on it. The documentation says that it will not support 16 bit DOS programs, the computation part of Mplus runs in a DOS window, any idea on whether it will run on Win 64? By the way, the upgrade to win64 is free if you have a 64 bit machine. Thanks!

Lee

PS. Sorry about posting to this forum, but none of them seemed quite right for this one.

Although we have never done this, the consensus is that Mplus should run on the 64 bit machine with Windows XP. It would not take advantage of any of the 64 bit capabilities however. We do not have access to such a machine at this time.

The following information is taken from the website under System Requirements:

"Mplus on Mac OS X: While Mplus is intended for Microsoft Windows, some users have reported success installing Mplus on Intel-powered Mac using either Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion software. Mplus support will not be provided for the installation and use of these software or the installation of Mplus using these software."

Newer versions of Wine do not work with Mplus.
