Hi

I am running a path analysis model which has two broad groups of pathways - material and relational. I am using MODEL CONSTRAINT in order to assess which is most important. But I get an error message which says the following:

*** ERROR
Unknown parameter label in MODEL CONSTRAINT: M1

The relevant part of the input is as follows:

Model indirect:
mal5cat IND sclass hqual terdisad sep (m1);
mal5cat IND sclass hqual sep (m2);
mal5cat IND tenureb hqual sep (m3);
mal5cat IND tenureb terdisad sep (m4);
mal5cat IND hqual terdisad sep (m4);
mal5cat IND hqual sep (m5);

mal5cat IND parstat sep (r1);
mal5cat IND parstat poorrel sep (r2);
mal5cat IND parstat peerrel sep (r3);
mal5cat IND poorrel sep (r4);

Model constraint:
0 = (m1*m2*m3*m4*m5) - (r1*r2*r3*r4);

Perhaps you can see why this does not work? Thanks.

Labels are given only in the MODEL command not in MODEL INDIRECT. You must label the parts of the indirect effect in the MODEL command and create a new parameter in MODEL CONSTRAINT that is the indirect effect and then proceed with the rest of the specifications.
