Hi, I consider purchasing MPlus but I am unsure whether I can carry out the analysis that I am searching for: A short description of the underlying research. There were a total of 32 groups in a 2X2 experimental design, which resulted in 8 groups per cell. In each group, two subjects where treated similarly (Either treated 1 or -1). Also in each group both these subjects where put in a similar condition (Either condition 1 or 0). After that, the groups did a group task that resulted in group-level outcome Y. The groups repeated the task in total six times resulted resulting in a total of Y1-Y6 outcomes per group. It is assumed that the outcomes are not affecting each other but are only affected by individual and group variables. The analysis I am aiming for. I have a group level dependent variable: Y I have group level indicators: Z1 (time of measurement 1-6), Z2 (Treatment 1/-1), Z3 (Condition 1/0), Z2 X Z3 (Interaction of Treatment and Condition) I have five individual level indicators: X1 (Treated 1/0); X2 (Gender); X3(Origin); X4, X5 (Psychometric Constructs) I would be happy, if you could tell me if Mplus may be the right tool. Pointing me to existing research that fits my analysis and also used Mplus would also be much regarded. Thank you Jan-Paul Lüdtke |

This can be handled using multilevel modeling. Examples of multilevel modeling are found in Chapter 9 of the user's guide. See Multilevel Modeling under Papers on the website. |
