Hi Drs Muthen & Muthen, I am trying to estimate a multilevel mediation model 2-1-1 using the code from Preacher's example F at website: http://www.quantpsy.org/pubs/syntax_appendix_081311.pdf I have replicated their code exactly but am getting the following errors: *** WARNING in MODEL command In the MODEL command, the following variable is a y-variable on the BETWEEN level and an x-variable on the WITHIN level. This variable will be treated as a y-variable on both levels: COPE_T *** ERROR in MODEL command Observed variable on the right-hand side of a between-level ON statement must be a BETWEEN variable. Problem with: COPE_T COPE_T is my mediator variable that I have not defined as a WITHIN or BETWEEN variable. I am using mplus v7. Thank you in advance for your help. |

Try putting a factor behind cope_t, for example, f BY cope_t@1; cope_t@0; and use the factor as a covariate. This makes f and cope_t equivalent. |
