Hi everyone

I'm new to Mplus and I'm finding very difficult to get going with it! I'm trying to run a two level moderation model, with dependant variable 'ESTch', moderator 'RESP', and ind variable 'IC'. My syntax currently looks like this, however I get several error messages regarding the 'MODEL:' line...

USEVARIABLES are Leader ESTch IC RESP INT;
CLUSTER is Leader;
WITHIN = RESP ESTch IC;
ANALYSIS: TYPE = TWOLEVEL;
MODEL:
%WITHIN%
ESTch ON IC;
%BETWEEN%
ESTch ON INT;
OUTPUT: SAMPSTAT STDYX;

Any help would be great!

You have ESTch declared as a Within variable but you also mention it on the Between level - that is a contradiction because declaring it as Within implies that it has no Between variation. Also, I don't see the RESP variable mentioned in the model.
