Multilevel Factor analysis supervisor... |

I plan to evaluate the properties of a questionnaire in a sample which includes multiple subordinates rating theirs supervisors, which in turn rate themselves on the same dimensions (unequal numbers of subordinate ratings per supervisor). What would be a suitable method of analysing this data in terms of the factor structure of the instrument, the convergenge of supervisor/subordinate ratings and the convergent discriminant validity with another questionnaire entered alongside the main instrument in the analysis? Thank you alot in advance for your effort! Kind regards Alexander |

You may want to take a look at the MTMM literature. |

The type of model that is appropriate for this kind of data set is Model III in the paper Eid, M., Nussbeck, F. W., Geiser, C., Cole, D. A., Gollwitzer, M., & Lischetzke, T. (2008). Structural equation modeling of multitrait-multimethod data: Different models for different types of methods. Psychological Methods, 13, 230-253 The Mplus inputs are provided as supplementary material on the Psychological Methods homepage. |
