Hi Linda, hi Bengt, I'm very new to Mplus and hope that my question doesn't sound overly stupid. I'm trying to analyse nested family data but don't get very far. Basically, in my .dat file I have negative values (indicated by "-" in front of the number) - there's no way around them as I have to center a few variables. However, Mplus now tells me that > "-" at record #:1, field #:18 " is an "invalid symbol in data file " (record 1 in field 18 is obviously a negative value). Does Mplus not accept negative values? If it does, how can I convince it to accept my data? Thanks very much in advance! Tina |

Mplus does accept negative values. Please send your input, data, output, and license number to support@statmodel.com. |
