Under what circumstances is analysis=integration required in random regression models? I have a two group model, first the program tells me I need analysis=integration, then it tells me that it isn't available in multiple group models...

Thanks.

I suspect that you are using TYPE=MIXTURE for which multiple group analysis is done using the KNOWNCLASS option of the VARIABLE command. If this is not the case, please send your output and data to support@statmodel.com so I can see what is happening.

Hi Drs. Muthens
i estimate random slopes with multilevel data.
i wrote a code like that and error message was pop up.

my question is what exactly is montecarlo integration?

i can't understand about montecarlo integration.

please Drs. Muthen! let me know about this problem

variable: names = x m y1 y2 y3 w id ;
usevariables = x m y1 w id ;
within = x ;
between = w ;
cluster = id ;
missing = m y1 (999) ;

analysis: type=twolevel random ;

model:
%within%
s1|m on x ;
s2|y1 on m ;
s3|y1 on x ;
%between%
m y1 s1 s2 s3 on w ;

output: tech1 tech8 ;

then error was pop up
*** FATAL ERROR
THIS MODEL CAN BE DONE ONLY WITH MONTECARLO INTEGRATION.

Check Monte Carlo integration in the index of the User's Guide.
