Hi Sorry to bother you with a very basic question but I have checked the forum and MPlus user guide to no avail. I am stuck! I am trying to run a multilevel model assessing care assistant variables at the within level and nursing home manager variables at the between level. I have run a null model and models with within level variables (fixed and random slopes) successfully. However, when I try to add a between level variable to the model I get the following error message: *** ERROR One or more between-level variables have variation within a cluster for one or more clusters. Check your data and format statement. Between Variable MAMC Cluster ID with variation in this variable (only one cluster ID will be listed) 29 ******** I have checked my data carefully and the values for the variable MAMC are all identical in the cluster identified, and I cannot see any errors in data entry in any of the other clusters either. I was wondering if I have misunderstood the error message? Many thanks Lucy |
