I was using Mplus to explore the structure of a questionnaire. The data was nonnormal (skewness roughly between 9~27 and kurtosis between 68~800) so I want to use MLM as estimator. But results showed that estimator was ML enough my command was MLM. This problem did not occur when I used MLR as estimator. I was wondering why this happened. |

You can use MLM only with Liswise = on, not when you have missing data. I assume that you have missing data and Mplus gives message that it switched from MLM to ML. MLR can handle missing data. |
