I have 8 different datasets on which I ran EFA. The EFA solution suggested there were 4 factors in each of those datasets (F1,F2,F3,F4); is there any way I can compare factor loadings of just the F1 across all 8 datasets to see if there are similarities/dissimilarities between factor loadings of F1 across the datasets? I thought of applying a hierarchical cluster analysis to the factor loadings of the F1 of all 8 datasets. I found 2 main clusters. I am interpreting it as factor loadings (F1's) of 4 of the datasets that clustered together are more similar to each other than the other 4. Do you think that might be a correct way to assess similarities or dissimilarities between the factor loadings of F1 across my 8 datasets? |

You can have a model with four factors and free the factor loadings and intercepts for all but f1. |
