hi all,

i am new to this forum and not yet experienced in using Mplus.

i'd like to do a very simple CFA with a syntax like

"MODEL: factor1 BY bi06 bi05 bi04 bi07 ;
factor2 BY bi13 bi27 bi28 ;"

Mplus always returns the factor loadings (estimates) on a metric that yields an estimate of 1 for factor1 BY bi06. how can i get the results on the correlation metric as usually reported in papers?

the "OUTPUT: STANDARDIZED;" option appears to be ignored (like the "CATEGORICAL ARE.." option). i didn't find the answer in the manual.

many thanks in advance,
michael

UG Chapter 16 has examples of using the BY command to do what you want. You just free all loadings and fix the factor variances, e.g.

f1 BY y1-y6*;
f1@1;

Regarding the standardized and categorical options, please send your input, output, data, and license number to support@statmodel.com.
