Dear Mplus team
In the Users' Guide examples and those on the website there are montecarlo examples of EFA bifactor not CFA bifactor. Where can I find syntax for CFA bifactor simulation of categorical data?

Just use the same montecarlo specifications as you do for other CFA models with categorical data. And then just use something like this for 10 y's:

fg by y1-y10*.8;
fs1 by y1-y5*.4;
fs2 by y6-y10*.4;
fg-fs2@1;
fg-fs2 with fg-fs2@0;
