HI there, I'm attempting to run a CFA with binary data. However each time I attempt to run the analysis I get an error message saying that one of my variables exceeds the number of categories allowed (300+). I'm guessing that I may have input the data incorrectly into SPSS but am unsure how to address this.

THanks

Hi Dr. Muthen,

I have a 3-factor CFA with 19 indicators. I am getting an error message saying the residual covariance matrix is not positive definite and the problem involves my 4th indicator.

What does this mean and what can I do to fix the problem?

Thank you for your help.
