Factors with only one variable |

I apologize for this, as I know very little about SEM so far. I did a EFA and discarded a couple variables. However, because of this, one factor now only has one variable associated with it: X1 by Y1 Y2 Y3 X2 by Y4 Y5 X3 by Y6 How does one manage this in MPlus? Does the X3 factor simply get omitted from the analysis? |

If you have only one factor indicator, just use the observed variable in the analysis. A factor with one indicator is identical to the observed variable. |

So how would I write that in the model section of a CFA (based on the above example)? Like this? X1 by Y1 Y2 Y3 X2 by Y4 Y5 Y6 |

Yes, you can write it like that. And, say for instance: y6 ON.... |
