Dear Linda,

I'd like to ask for your advise on how to code a censored variable. I would like to test how many days the subjects will survive after the treatment and hence, number of days is the censored dependent variable. I have a cutting point to observe this where some subjects are dead and others survive. I would like to know what would be the best way to code the value for the survivors.

Let's say that my cutting point is 100 days after the treatment. Should I fill in the value for those survivors as 100?

Also, please could you suggest any materials that would help me understand this.

Many thanks.
Pat

I would score this as continuous time survival and analyze it in the same way. See Example 6.21 and the SURVIVAL and TIMECENSORED options.
