Hi All! I generated a covariance matrix from SPSS and have it on my desktop. I could not get it to read in as a .txt file from notepad so I changed it to a .dat file, but still no luck. I am sure I am missing a tiny bit of syntax but have looked over all kinds of examples. The file name is analyticcov.dat, and it is on my desktop, in my documents, and anywhere else I could think of to put it, but I keep getting the error message *** ERROR in DATA command
The file specified for the FILE option cannot be found. Check that this
file exists: c:\desktop\analyticcov.dat.

Thanks!

Search for analyticcov.dat on your computer. It may be that there is an additional extension that you don't see or that you have misspelled the data set name. If you can't figure it out, send the input, data, output, and your license number to support@statmodel.com.

Thanks! I used your suggestion and it was .dat.txt but that did not help either. I will send it along.
