Linda I'm using example 3.1 and would like to obtain MAHALANOBIS distance for outliers. Where in the mplus code does SAVE=MAHALANOBIS go? I've inserted it after the model command and MPLUS issues a warning ERROR in MODEL command Unknown variables: SAVE=MAHALANOBIS in line: SAVE=MAHALANOBIS Thanks |

It goes in the SAVEDATA command. |

Thanks This worked. I saved the output to a file ,opened it in excel, but there is no heading indicating the p value The example 3.1 has y1 x1 x3,but there are five colums outputed in the saved file. Which of these is the p value for the Mahalanobis distance. |

To understand what is in the saved data file, see the end of the output where that is described. You can also use Mahalanobis with the PLOT command. You can plot the Mahalanobis distance variable against another relevant variable to find outliers. |
