Muthen & Muthen Accessibility Statement

Mplus Version 8.6 and Selected Pages from User’s Guide

(Based on VPAT ® Version 2.4)

The Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended by Congress in the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, and as revised in 2018, requires that electronic and information technology used by Federal agencies be accessible to people with disabilities.

This page provides information about Muthen & Muthen's Section 508 compliance, including Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) documenting compliance.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Mplus v.8.6 and its associated PDF user guide is partially conformant with WCAG 2.0 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

Mplus v.8.6 is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Partial support for JAWS and NVDA on Windows 10
  • Partial support for Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on Windows 10

Limitations and alternatives

  2. Keyboard access: Certain components and functionality could not be accessed via use of the keyboard due to a keyboard trap (see next item).
  3. Keyboard trap: A keyboard trap is present in the application that prevents users from accessing additional functionality without a mouse.
  4. Focus order: Focus does not always move to intended content or content that should otherwise receive focus.
  5. Name, role, value: Many controls in the application are missing appropriate markup for names/roles.
  6. Images: Some images do not have appropriate alternative text descriptions.
  7. Title and Language: The PDF user's guide does not have an appropriate title and/or language identified.
